Counselling
As a professional Counsellor, I am passionate about supporting women to improve their overall emotional well-being.
When I work with you, I offer a gentle space where together we can make sense of your experience and how it plays out in your life today without fear, shame, judgement, criticism, or comparison. I use a methodology of mainstream talk therapy & somatic trauma therapy combined with a holistic approach, supporting you to reconnect any fragmented parts, reduce overwhelm, develop more confidence, improve self-worth, live fully in the present moment and find a path forward.
I understand that you might feel apprehensive at contacting a counsellor, because I’ve been there too!! and it takes a great deal of courage to reach out for support when you feel like you don’t know who to trust. My role is to partner with you so that you don’t have to face this journey alone.
If you feel ready to take that step, please feel free to reach out and allow me to guide and support you through this process.
Soulful Conversations
Counselling for women who have experienced abuse, unhealthy
relationships, starting out again after separation or divorce, or grieving the loss of a loved one.
This is what some of my clients say to me:
• I'm tired of repeating the same patterns
• I wake up in a fog because I've hardly slept
• I’m replaying things over and over in my mind
• I freeze up rather than say what I truly feel
• I feel so angry all the time
• I'm confused, scared and uncertain of the future
• I can't face the stranger in the mirror
• I feel like part of me is lost and not sure how to get me back.
• I'm so confused about my relationship
If any of these resonate with you, then know that you are not alone. Many feel this way, and these are all perfectly normal reactions to what you are experiencing right now.
Many of my clients have tried different strategies, read self-help books, watched videos, and listened to various podcasts trying to work out how to heal from what they are experiencing.
Whilst these may have been effective for a short period, they find themselves slipping back into old patterns and ways of thinking, still feeling lost and broken and stuck in the past.
Whilst it may not feel like it now, I am here to let you know that whilst you may not be able to heal completely from what happened to you in the past, there are ways to move forward, find clarity, new confidence, feel in control, free from shame and guilt, live purposefully in the present improving your overall wellbeing and emotional health.
Cancer Support For Partners
When your partner or family member is diagnosed with cancer or long-term illness, we throw ourselves into doing everything we can to support them, neglecting our own feelings and needs.
It can feel selfish to talk about how this is affecting you when your partner/family member is going through so much themselves. But this is your journey too, and it feels like your world is falling apart around you.
Cancer Support is designed to support you in a safe, quiet and calm environment, encouraging you to share and process all that is going on for you without fear, guilt or judgement.
Together we identify ways to:
-
Improve your emotional well-being
-
Find ways to control the anxiety and panic
-
Learn relaxation and mindfulness techniques
-
Honour your need for self-care in a way that doesn’t leave you feeling selfish or guilty
-
Work through your fears
-
Explore your beliefs and fears about death and spirituality
-
Find ways to support your partner whilst retaining an intimate and emotional connection.
-
Communicate your needs and create healthy boundaries for yourself to family & friends
-
Find the confidence and courage to face the future
Here’s one thing that I want you to know, this is a difficult journey you are going through and that you matter too. Please feel free to reach out and let me support you through this process.
These sessions can be either in-person or online to suit your requirements.
